The LaGrange Police Department responded to a stabbing incident between a woman and the father of her children on Saturday.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., the LPD responded to Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center in response to a subject who had been stabbed.

Upon arrival, contact was made with the female victim. The victim stated that earlier Saturday she was sitting on the couch with the father of her two children, Desmond Gaskin, when he snapped and starting stabbing her with a pocket knife, resulting in visible injuries, per a press release from the LPD.

Gaskin took subsequently left the scene but was later apprehended by the Georgia State Patrol.  Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the LPD at (706) 883-2603 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at (706) 812-1000.
