The LaGrange Police Department is searching for an individual who eluded officers following an ATV pursuit in the city Sunday.

Per a press release from the LPD, an unknown black male in approximately his late teens to mid-twenties was driving recklessly on the roadways of the city. A further investigation revealed at the time of the incident that the subject had committed similar offenses on multiple previous dates and will have charges pending for those previous incidents along with the numerous charges from this date.

On Sunday at approximately 4:36 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Rutland Circle in reference to dirt bikes driving recklessly on the roadway.

Shortly thereafter, officers observed a dirt bike traveling in the area of Hill Street and Greenville Street and attempted to make contact with the operator of the dirt bike.

The driver was wearing black shorts, a sleeveless white tank top style shirt and pink crocs.

However, the operator of the dirt bike allegedly continued to drive in a reckless manner in order to elude police.

A short time later, as officers were still trying to locate the dirt bike rider, he was again observed in the area of Haley Way and Cross Creek Court where he again drove in a reckless manner in order to elude officers.

However, the officer was able to follow him into a cul-de-sac where he drove into the woods, abandoned the dirt bike and fled on foot through the wooded area.

Officers attempted to locate the subject but were unsuccessful.

The abandoned dirt bike was towed from the location.
