Kudos to Sweetland

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Boyz II Men will perform at Sweetland Amphitheatre on Sunday. Not surprisingly, only a few tickets are left for the concert, as many locals — and people from surrounding counties — are making the drive to see the iconic R&B group.

Every time one of these big acts plays in LaGrange, we can’t help but think of how grateful we are to have a venue like Sweetland.

Last year, everyone involved with the concert venue was scrambling due to COVID-19. Concerts got postponed, then rescheduled, then canceled.

Katie McGinty, Katie Van Schoor and others have done a tremendous job in rescheduling last year’s concerts, and finding a way to squeeze them into the schedule. Sweetland’s concert schedule usually starts much earlier than it did this year, and the venue has had a crunched schedule as a result.

Everything has gone off without a hitch, and it’s been tremendous.

The season isn’t over quite yet — Kip Moore performs on Oct. 8 — but we still think some kudos are in order.

Thank you to everyone who has had played a role in getting concerts back at Sweetland this year. We appreciate you, and thank you for all of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes.
