1914-2021

Mrs. Gladys Haliburton, 107 of McDonough, Georgia gained her wings on Saturday, September 11, 2021.  She was born as Gladys Hill on August 26, 1914 in the Rural section of Troup County to the late Noble and Beatrice Turner Hill.  Mrs. Haliburton attended Randolph County Training School.  She retired from Saint Lee Catholic School as a Cook.  She was a devoted member of Hartford Memorial Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of LaGrange serving in several capacities.

Survivors include her daughter, Beatrice York of Detroit, Michigan; two granddaughters, Marie Sheats of Fayetteville, Georgia and Altovise York of Creedmoor, North Carolina: six great-grandchildren: four great-great grand children and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.  She was preceded in death by sisters, Lillie “Tessie” Pogue and Vivian Finley: brothers John Turner and Neal Freeman. Graveside Services for Mrs. Gladys Haliburton will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Meadoway Gardens. Pastor Timothy Wright will officiate. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 6-8 p.m. at West Georgia Mortuary.
