The City of LaGrange will be joining the Army Corps of Engineers this Saturday for the 2021 National Public Lands Day.

The cleanup event will be 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. along West Point Lake at McGee Bridge Park, 557 Old Roanoke Road.

All supplies will be provided. National Public Lands Day Event is an annual event held by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that includes shoreline clean-up, construction of bluebird nesting boxes and invasive plant removal.

West Point Lake has 225 miles of shoreline, 26,000 acres of water and more than 30,000 acres of public land. It is home to several species of fish, birds, and other wildlife.

These volunteer activities greatly benefit their environment and build awareness of the natural resources for the volunteers who participate.
