Patricia “Ms. Patty” W. Scott, 87, passed away on Sunday, Oct.3, 2021, in LaGrange, Georgia.

Survivors include her daughters, Deborah Jordan of Roanoke, Carolyn Barth (Garin) of Columbus, Georgia; Son, Gerald Scott of Roanoke; grandchildren, James (Brittany), Joseph, Ashley, Michael (Rachelle), Stephanie, Andrew, Valerie (Shannon) and Damen (Cassie); and numerous great-grandchildren.

A Grove City, Ohio, native, Ms. Patty was born Sept. 10, 1934, the daughter of Harold Earl Grant and Frances J. Neimeister Grant Copeland.

Ms. Patty held a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and had worked as a CPA at Bear Creek uranium and for Tommy Hutchinson’s Accounting Firm. She was a devoted Christian and servant of God. She attended Big Springs Baptist Church for many years and found great joy in being an active member and teaching Sunday School. Patty enjoyed gardening and had a natural ability to grow and nurture any plant. She was a loving woman and will be greatly missed by all who encountered her. Ms. Patty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, C.L. Scott, her son, Douglas Tomczek, and her sister, Juanita Cook.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ms. Patty’s memory to St. Jude Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105 or to Big Springs Baptist Church Sunday School Fund and mail to 319 College Street, Roanoke, Alabama, 36274.

Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.  Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-12 NLT
