LaGrange man arrested after allegedly kidnapping son

A LaGrange man has been charged with kidnapping and battery after allegedly taking his child from its mother following a dispute.

Antonia Grant, 28, allegedly tried to physically assault the mother of his child and had forcibly taken their 1-year-old son from her arms before leaving the scene, according to the LaGrange Police Department.

On Wednesday night, officers with the LPD were dispatched to 307 Guinn Street, in reference to an unknown problem.

Upon arrival, officers were advised by the female victim, that the father of her child, identified as Grant, assaulted her and had left the scene with their child.

The investigation determined that Grant had no legal rights to custody of the child.

Antonia Grant was charged with one count of kidnapping and one count of Battery (FVA).
