AUBURN, Alabama — With the new year fast approaching, the Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center at Auburn  University has announced its Spring 2022 performance schedule.

According to a press release from Gogue, the spring lineup, which largely consists of rescheduled engagements from the Gogue Center’s inaugural and 2020–21  seasons, will feature nearly two dozen performances from some of the biggest names in rock, jazz, dance and chamber music, along with the highly anticipated return of touring Broadway musicals.

In January 2022, the Gogue Center will present multi-night performances of “Fiddler on the Roof” on Jan. 3 and 4,  “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” on Jan. 29 and 30 as well as the return of iconoclastic bassist Edgar Meyer, who will be joined by his eclectic quartet, Bush / Marshall / Meyer / Meyer on Jan. 27.

Dance returns to the Woltosz Theatre in February with two very different yet equally compelling companies taking to the stage: Soledad Barrio and Noche Flamenca on Feb. 10 and the Bessie Award-winning Camille A. Brown & Dancers on Feb. 18.

The month will also include performances by legendary jazz saxophonist Branford Marsalis on Feb. 20, the thunderous Japanese drum collective Yamato on Feb. 25 and Tony Award-winning singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell with folk-rock group Bonny Light Horseman on Feb. 27.

March will feature a mix of the classical and modern. Slated for the month are performances by celebrated French Canadian chamber orchestra Les Violons du Roy with pianist Jeremy Denk (March 13), Cuban jazz supergroup Alfredo  Rodríguez and Pedrito Martinez (March 18, the innovative, boundary-stretching Ballet X on March 26, and jazz megastar Kenny G on March 29.

In April, the Gogue Center will welcome blue-eyed soul legends The Righteous Brothers on April 23, fronted by Bill  Medley and Auburn alumnus Bucky Heard, as well as performances by breakout star of stage and screen Lauren Patten on April 24 and a mesmerizing musical duel by Piano Battle on April 2.

Winding down in May, the Spring 2022 lineup rounds out with the lighter-than-air circus arts spectacle “Air Play” by  Acrobuffos on May 13 and is bookended by two additional Broadway musicals—nationally renowned productions of  Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “OKLAHOMA!” on May 17, 18 and 19 and “Anastasia” on May 31 and June 1.

Tickets to many Spring 2022 performances—particularly the season’s four Broadway shows—are expected to sell out quickly. Patrons are encouraged to secure seats as soon as possible to avoid missing out on their favorite artists and performances.

Tickets purchased for rescheduled performances, including those purchased as part of a subscription package from either the inaugural or 2020–21 seasons, are still valid, and admission will be honored on the rescheduled date.

Additional information and details regarding tickets will be sent to all current ticket holders in the coming weeks.
