The Defending America’s Defenders (D.A.D) annual Toy Run is Saturday with registration starting at 9:30 a.m. The event costs $20 or participants can bring an unwrapped toy.

The last bike will be allowed in by 2 p.m. The event will be at 2516 Upper Big Springs Rd and will have stops at Guardians RC, Whitetail Pub and 104 Pub.

Ray Brundage, a member of a motorcycle club in LaGrange, said the event will include a poker run, raffle items, 50/50 and a live auction.

This event is sponsored by D.A.D a veteran’s club that helps out with the Veterans Affairs of LaGrange. Brundage said this can look different depending on what the veterans need.

“What they do is [help] veterans in the area that need assistance like getting all their forms filled out, being brought into a different type of VA programs, maybe taking them to the hospital up in Atlanta,” Brundage said.

“They’ll do whatever they have to do. They are a really good group, and we like doing this.”

Brundage said this is a community event, and it will be fun for everyone who comes out to support and that they might even get some cool prizes.

“There are drawings and an auction, and we’ve got some good stuff,” Brundage said. “We got a 10 ticket package and a bunch of little stuffed dragons from the Columbus river dragons… Businesses all over town have given us certificates and the pawn shops have been giving us musical instruments to auction off.”
