Santa to make stops in Troup Co. this weekend

The holidays are here, and this weekend has plenty of family-fun events to do, including visits with Santa Claus. Here’s a list of some events for the weekend:

Friday:

  • Santa will appear at the LaGrange Mall starting Friday, noon to 7 p.m. Santa will return to the mall on Saturday from 1 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m. For more information and times for Santa’s upcoming mall visits, visit lagrangemcall.com.

Saturday:

  • Start your weekend off with a bit of community service for the Leaving LaGrange Better Than We Found It litter pickup at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church from 8 to 10 a.m. St. Mark’s is located at 207 N. Greenwood St.
  • Join Santa at Hogansville City Hall Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. for breakfast. Admission is free and waffles will be made served by Waffle House staff.
  • If you live in West Point, Santa will be having breakfast at the West Point First United Methodist Church on 306 E. 7th St. Admission is $5 per person and includes breakfast. Photos are $2 each.
  • Children’s author Jacqueline Leigh will be speaking at Pretty Good Books on Saturday at 1 p.m. to promote her latest book, “Skedaddle.” Leigh is the author of “Time for Bed with Ford and Red” and “The Spill,” which is the recipient of a Moonbeam Children’s Book Award for Best Picture Book in the Preschool Category.
  • Downtown LaGrange will host Photos with Groovy Santa from 1 to 4 p.m. On Saturdays, find him with Bixie the Vintage VW bus in front of the Courtyard Marriott Hotel. Bring your own camera and make a holiday memory. Pets are welcome. This event is free.
  • Award-winning singer/songwriters Barry Waldrep and Kelli Johnson join forces to play at Purelife studios Saturday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. General seating is $27.50 or $110 for a high-top table for four. For tickets, visit purelifelagrange.com
