We’ve said it many times, but the LaGrange Christmas parade is absolutely incredible. The LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce and Kimberly Clark deserve a lot of credit for year in and year out producing as good of a parade as you’ll ever see for a community our size.

Of course, all of the float entries deserve credit too.

Every single year the floats get better and better, as does the atmosphere.

A year after COVID-19 did its best to dampen down the holiday spirit (it couldn’t), the parade came back bigger and better than ever last week.

It’s always felt like the parade truly kicked off the holiday season in Troup County, and Thursday’s parade was the perfect way to get it started.

We also applaud everyone who had a role in the pre-parade festivities.

Santa Claus was on the square, Jontavious Willis provided music and entertainment and everyone was in a festive mood.

Many downtown businesses were out serving food and playing a role in the excitement as well. The weather was also perfect, which allowed jackets to come off and everyone to enjoy a wonderful afternoon downtown.

We know other communities have Christmas parades. We know many other communities have great downtowns. But we’re not sure many have the tradition of our parade, nor are many organized or as successful as ours.

Thanks to everyone who played a role. Merry Christmas to all.
