The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Troup County Sheriff’s Office were able to recover more Thursday from the inside of Kyle Clinkscales’ car.

Clinkscales’ Ford Pinto was recovered in a creek on Highway 83 in Chambers County Tuesday, more than 45 years after the 22-year-old Auburn student disappeared in 1976. The Troup County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday that bones had been recovered from the vehicle, but a press release from law enforcement Thursday said GBI and TCSO were able to find approximately 50 different skeletal remains, including a partial skull bone.

All of the fragments were sent to the GBI crime lab for further analysis.

The process was expected to conclude Thursday. Among the recovered items were several personal belongings that were likely to have belonged to Kyle.
