Ellen Marie Langford Janney, 71, of LaGrange, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, at her daughter, Tina’s home.

Marie was born Nov. 17, 1950, in LaGrange, Georgia, daughter of the late Henry Lee Langford and Ellen Inez Ozburn Langford. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Langford Madore; and former husband, Larry E. Janney.

Marie is survived by her children, Tina Janney, Jessica (Kenny) Sebaugh, and Larry (Kaylee) Janney Jr; and her sister, Janelle Langford Shirey; grandchildren, Maegan (Cody) Bell, Hunter Lane, Livi Stewart, Lacey Stewart and Parker Dean; and many other beloved relatives and friends.

She worked for many years as a Mortgage Underwriter.  Most recently in her retirement, she worked as a Junior Processor for NewRez.  She loved her work and took great pride in it.  When she was not working, she loved spending time with family and friends.  Marie was a fearless believer in Christ, which shown through her kind and loving spirit.

The family will gather at the home of Kenny and Jessica Sebaugh at 285 Sanders Road on Tuesday, December 14 from 4-8 p.m.

Services will be at Striffler-Hamby Chapel on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021 with visitation at 1 p.m., and the Celebration of Life Service immediately following at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jimmy McMillian officiating. The burial will be in Mooty Cemetery following the service.
