There have been three cases of the Omicron COVID-19 variant found in Georgia, according to various media reports from around the state.

It’s early, but Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading expert on infectious diseases, said it appears Omicron may be less severe than the illness caused by the Delta variant. If that’s the case, it’s a great sign since it appears Omicron is spreading pretty quickly around the world.

We know everyone is in the Christmas spirit and getting ready for holiday gatherings. We are too.

But we recommend keeping an eye on COVID-19 numbers, which are rising ever so slightly as see the weather get colder and Omicron begin to make its way around.
