Weekend Ticket: Lights, music, more happening this weekend

There is plenty of holiday fun to be had this weekend in Troup County.

Start your weekend off with breakfast with West Point Vision. The meal will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Keeney Memorial United Methodist, 703 Ave K., West Point.

Hogansville will host its Christmas Bazaar from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at 308 E Main St. The bazaar includes last-minute Christmas gifts and the chance for children to have their picture taken with Santa. A Christmas parade will take place downtown at 6 p.m. that day as well.

The LaGrange Troup County Humane Society and the City of LaGrange Animal Services will host a Speed Petting & Adoption Event at Home2 Suites across from Great Wolf Lodge on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations are only $10 per family, but space is limited.

Young Singers of West Georgia’s will host its “Christmas Memories” performance on Friday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 11 at 3 p.m. at the LaGrange High School Auditorium, located at 516 North Greenwood Street in LaGrange.

Hills & Dales Estate will host its 2021 Children’s Christmas Celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

LaGrange author Judy Gilliam will read and sign her two recent children’s books “Florence and Her Fantastic Family Tree” and “The Magical Heart of T Dog” this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Pretty Good Books in downtown LaGrange.

ThreeLife Church invites parents to drop your kids off for a fun day of Christmas crafts, treats and lunch while parents enjoy a day for themselves. The church will be serving ages PreK through fifth grade. Drop off will be at 10 a.m. and pick up at 3 p.m. Register at https://threelife.churchcenter.com/registr…/events/1073076

First United Methodist Church at 401 Broad Street will host a drive-thru Night of Lights Sunday beginning at 6 p.m. Report first to the Wesley Hall entrance for free hot cocoa, cookies and a map featuring the Christmas lights of LaGrange. Then, return to the Vernon Street parking lot to experience a living nativity with animals, including a camel. Santa Claus will return to the LaGrange Mall for pictures on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
