Katherine Peters, 89, of LaGrange, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022.

Ms. Peters was born Feb. 22, 1932, in Rabun, Alabama, to Rastus L. Long and Carrie Jane Staffer Long.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane (Jim) Blackburn; granddaughter, Corie Ring; grandson Travis Blackburn; great-grandchildren, Reese Ring and Fischer Ring; Brothers, Bobby (Carol) Long and Bennie (June) Long; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Oliver Peters.

Katherine lived a full life as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to so many. She loved to watch the Atlanta Braves play and loved the Wheel of Fortune game show. She loved being outside with her loyal companion and pup, Dee Dee. Most of all she loved her family and friends. She leaves a great legacy to her family with the good values she instilled and passed to them all. She will be dearly missed by us all but forever in our hearts.

A Funeral Mass Service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, at St. Peters Catholic Church in LaGrange, Georgia.
