1937-2022

Miss. Sylvia Jean Smith, of LaGrange, passed away on Jan. 21, 2022. 

Miss. Smith was born on Sept. 30, 1937, in Coweta County to the late Edgar Smith and Thelma Herndon Smith. 

She retired after 36 years with Bell South and was a long-time member of the Unity Baptist Church in LaGrange. 

She is survived by a niece, nephew, cousins and her church family.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the Unity Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Bingham officiating.

A private interment service will be held at Restlawn Memory Gardens.  Friends will gather for a time of visitation at the church on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, it was Miss. Smith’s desire that donations be made to the Unity Baptist Church, 715 South Greenwood Street, LaGrange, 30240.  The service will be live-streamed at www.facebook.com/higginslagrangechapel.
