After leading early, The LaGrange High boys soccer team ended up losing to the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings 2-1. Daniel Duran Gonzalez and Noah Nugent scored for the Vikings in the comeback.

From the sideline, Tripp Hollstrom assisted on a goal by Bo Beall, who headed the ball in the goal. Near the end of the first half, Romans Outland attempted a shot for the Grangers but barely missed.

The second half started with the Vikings playing more aggressively than before, shooting six times and scoring twice.

Although the Grangers were unable to shoot throughout the second half, they played hard the last ten minutes of the game, attempting new strategies and positions.

“We play super-high ranked teams like them, which they were semi-finalists last year, and we do that in non-region competitions,” said Grangers Head Coach Shane Pullium.

“I just want to be able to compete, and I believe we competed well, better at the end, but I hope when we play Starr’s Mill next Friday at home, hopefully, we will be able to get the W from what we learn tonight. We had to move some stuff around, we lost some players here and there. There were starters who were hurt. It was just a bad night for us, so that could have made a difference.”

The Granger boys will compete next Friday, Feb. 4 at home, in a non-region game against Starr’s Mill High School.
