The LaGrange Police Department is looking for a man who fled the scene after a shooting Monday in the area of East Crovat Street.

The LPD is looking for Jermill Fannin, who had been in an altercation with the shooting victim in the 100 block of West Crovat Street. During the argument, Fannin shot the victim two times before fleeing the scene, according to a LPD press release. The victim was shot in the chest and arm and was lying in the street when officers arrived on the scene. He was flown to an Atlanta area hospital.

Lt. Mark Cavender with the LPD said that the victim had checked himself out of the hospital around 11 p.m. Monday night.

“None of his injuries were severe,” Cavender said via email Tuesday. “[He] headed to surgery and then checked out.”

Warrants were subsequently issued for Fannin for criminal attempt murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Anyone with information regarding this incident or the whereabouts of Jermill Fannin are urged to call the LaGrange Police Department at (706) 883-2603 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at (706) 812-1000.

At the time of this incident, LPD said Fannin was on parole for prior felony offenses.
