Dorothy Jewell Mitchell

Mrs. Dorothy Jewell Mitchell, 84, of LaGrange, passed away on Jan. 30, 2022. 

Mrs. Mitchell was born on Aug. 23, 1937, in Woodland, Alabama, to the late Bill Arrington and Velma Smith Arrington.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milburn “Crocket” Mitchell and a brother-in-law, TV Bailey. 

Survivors include her sister, Willene Bailey; brother, Rodney Arrington (Sue); nieces, Cynthia Johnson (Jack), Kathy Green, Jessica Hughes (Luke) and Hailey Ogun (Femi); great-nephews, Brad Johnson (Ashley), David Hughes and Liam Ogun; great-nieces, Kelli McMurray (Gus), Amee Green and Amberlee Messer (Lee); great-great nieces, Alyx Johnson, Greenlee Messer and Julee Anna Messer; great-great nephews, Tripp McMurray, Jax Johnson and Seth McMurray; extended family.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, at 3 p.m. at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand Chapel.  Entombment will follow at the Shadowlawn Mausoleum.  Family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 2-3 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Assembly of God in LaGrange, 1700 S.
