The Troup County Tigers girls basketball team bounced back after a tough loss Friday night as they dominated their arch-rivals LaGrange by a score of 64-36 Saturday. This is the Tigers’ eighth straight win over their crosstown rivals.

The Grangers could get absolutely nothing going on offense in the first half en route to only seven total points at the break. The offense got some momentum in the second half but could not overcome the hole they dug themselves into at the break.

The Grangers had nobody score in double-digits as Brittany Heard was their leading scorer with seven points.

Alexcia Murphy was the star yet again for the Tigers, scoring 20 points on the evening to lead all scorers. Murphy showed no signs of fatigue as she scored more than 20 points on back-to-back nights.

The Tigers get back to .500 (12-12) and improve their region record to 10-5. Troup County travels to Jordan for their final game of the season on Feb. 11 as they prepare for another trip to the playoffs.

For the Grangers it was another disappointing loss to their rivals as they fell to 2-20 overall and 1-12 in the region. Their next game is the final game of the regular season as they host Hardaway on Feb. 11.
