Skyhawks fall on the road to No. 14 Bryan

DAYTON, Tenn. (Feb. 8, 2022) – The Point University women’s basketball team traveled to face Appalachian Athletic Conference top contender Bryan College Tuesday evening and fell to the Lions 100-62.

Point’s offense was led by Iyanna McMillan, Nicole Izuagie and Jasmine Griggs who connected for 14, 13 and 11 points, respectively. Sheyvonne Owens led Point with 11 rebounds.

A 3-pointer from McMillan helped Point take an 8-7 lead with 6:22 remaining in the opening quarter, but Bryan answered with an 8-0 run to go ahead 15-8. The Lions entered the second quarter ahead 18-11.

Bryan opened on a 15-3 run in the second quarter and entered the half leading 42-23. The Skyhawks could not make a comeback in the second half, as the Lions scored 27 points in the third quarter and 31 in the fourth.

With the loss, Point falls to 18-5 (14-5 AAC) and the Lions advance to 25-0 (20-0 AAC). Point will be back in action on Thursday, Feb. 10, as they host Truett McConnell at 5:30 p.m. inside West Point Park Gymnasium.
