LaGrange and Troup County will host a handful of events this weekend that includes crafts, music, and education for both adults and children. These include events hosted by the Hogansville Public library, LaGrange High School, and the Azalea Storytelling Festival.

Night to Shine, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation will have a Shine Thru parade starting at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, with a virtual celebration at 6 p.m. For more information, visit  https://fbclagrange.org/night-to-shine.

Crafternoon for Kids at the Hogansville Public Library is on Friday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event will feature glitter heart jars and fingerprint heart rocks. This program is free and available for all children with no registration required. Materials will be provided.

The library is also hosting Four Fridays in February: Black History Month Film Series with the Hogansville Regional Arts Association. This event celebrates Black History Month with a film screening of “42,” a biographical sports film about Jackie Robinson. Black-owned businesses and artists will also have a showcase on Friday at 6 p.m. This event is free and open to the entire community with HRRA accepting donations to help fund future projects.

The Azalea Storytelling Festival and Friends of the LaGrange Memorial Library will host “Taste of Storytelling” on Sunday at 2 p.m. This event will be at the First Presbyterian Church of LaGrange located at 120 Broad St. It will feature regional storytellers Andy Russell and Jane Cunningham, local storyteller Felicia Moore and emcee Mary Ellen Taylor.

Downtown LaGrange will be hosting a Galentine’s Ladies Night Out on Friday from 6 – 9 p.m. They will roll out a pink carpet, hold a photoshoot, will have light refreshments and VIP shopping with door prizes and more.

The first 25 shoppers will get a shopping tote filled with free goodies.
