The Georgia General Assembly completed our 18th day, of a 40 day Session,  last Thursday, Feb. 17.

Over 1300 bills have been introduced during this tw0-year term of the Legislature. I mentioned in last week’s newsletter that I have a bill dealing with “call before you dig,” and it is now in committee. I hope to present this legislation to the committee members in the next two weeks and move this bill forward.

I have another bill that deals with motor carrier registration and penalties for not registering with the State of Georgia. This legislation has passed the House and is now in the Senate.

An additional bill has to do with unclaimed property with the Department of Revenue. I am still working to have this legislation heard in committee.  I will give more information in my next newsletter.

A number of realtors from District 133 and the surrounding area visited the Capitol this past week .and I was happy to have the chance to speak with the group.

I came home and picked up my mail last Friday and saw two fliers that contained my picture and instructed citizens to contact me about standing up for issues and not caving to special interest groups.

I was not contacted ahead of time about these fliers and no one ask permission about using my name or picture. This concerns me greatly, since the material was confusing. I am always open to discuss matters with constituents and my cell number is on my House business card.
