The Grangers got a win in their fourth game of the LaGrange Toyota Invitational over Gadsden City (Alabama) 6-4 Saturday to end the tournament with two wins and two losses. It was a back-and-forth affair with the Grangers holding on in the end.

The scoring started when the Titans plated a runner in the top of the second inning. The Grangers answered in the bottom of the second when Tanner Langley popped a single up to center field to drive in Rob Skinner for the first run of the game for LaGrange.

The Titans retook the lead the following inning 2-1, but the Grangers were quick to answer once again. LaGrange tied the game in the bottom of the third when Trey Cook was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Unfortunately, the Grangers could not capitalize further as they had the bases loaded with only one out after Cook was hit by a pitch.

The game stayed at 2-2 until the Grangers bats exploded in the bottom of the fifth inning. Robbie Parker stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded and put a ball into play. He got all the way to home plate on an error and all three base runners hitting home plate as well for the Grangers as they took a commanding 6-2 lead.

The Titans almost mounted a furious comeback in the top of the seventh inning. They scored two runs in the inning and had runners on second and third. With the tying run on second base with two outs, Tuner Cook entered the game for Caden Wood and threw three straight strikes to get a strikeout and slam the door on a Gadsden City comeback.

Wood had a good showing on the mound for the Grangers as he pitched six and ⅔ innings allowing one earned run on nine hits.

Skinner had the best day at the plate for the Grangers with two singles in three at-bats and scored two runs.

LaGrange moved to 7-4 on the season with the next game away against region foe Kendrick on Tuesday March 8. LaGrange is 1-0 in region play so far this season.
