Sweetland Amphitheatre announced its first five shows of the season last week, and we can’t wait to see that venue full with music filling the airwaves.

We know that Sweetland was full last year as COVID-19 cases had fallen, but this year, with cases even further on the decline, it appears as though things are going to be almost completely back to normal for everyone. That can only mean good things for the venue, as it means more people are venturing out, which equals more ticket sales and more excitement.

Sweetland already has a great lineup just with the first five concerts announced.

On May 20, George Thorogood & The Destroyers will take the stage. The classic rock band is best known for their legendary hits like “Bad To The Bone,” “Born To Be Bad” and “I Drink Alone.”

On June 2, rock artist Grace Potter will perform. Potter is a three-time Grammy-nominated artist has shared a stage with artists such as The Rolling Stones, Willie Nelson, Robert Plant, the Allman Brothers, Neil Young, Jackson Browne, Mavis Staples and The Roots. She currently has four albums, her most recent of which is Daylight, released in 2019.

Americana string band Old Crow Medicine Show will be on stage June 10. The six-member group’s ninth album, Remedy, released in 2014, won the Grammy Award for Best Folk Album.

On Aug. 5, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Outlaws, Kentucky Head Hunters will team up for a full knight of traditional rock.

On Aug. 26, country artist Jimmie Allen will hit the stage. Allen is known for his hits “Best Shot” and “Make Me Want To” both from his 2018 album, Mercury.

If you haven’t been to Sweetland, we encourage you to find a concert and go. It’s a tremendous venue, one that LaGrange is lucky to have. We’re looking forward to another great season.
