Tigers girls soccer team gets thrilling penalty kick win over Hardaway

The Troup County girls soccer team won in penalty kicks Tuesday over Hardaway in a game that ended 4-4 at the end of overtime.

The Tigers scored on four of their penalty kicks while Hardaway only put two in the back of the net.

The game was back-in-fourth with neither side able to establish dominance. The Tigers were able to take a 3-1 lead into halftime, but let Hardaway claw back in the game in the second half.

The game was tied 4-4 at the end of regulation and saw no goals scored by either team in the extra time period.

Emily Beesley and Felicity Gill each scored two goals in regulation and dispatched their PKs to lead the Tigers to victory.

Mackenzie Gill and Natahley also stepped up and made their penalty kicks to help the Tigers achieve victory on the night.

Haley Kitchens also had a great game in goal and only allowed two of the penalty kicks to ding the back of the net.

The Tigers moved to 4-7 overall and 2-2 in region play. Troup County plays Columbus on Wednesday at Callaway Stadium, weather permitting.
