Ranelle “Rae” Scarborough Loyd, 95, of LaGrange, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022.

She was born on May 4, 1926, in Coweta County, Georgia to William and Willie Mae Scarborough. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of LaGrange, where she worked in the Soup Kitchen and oversaw communion with her husband for more than 25 years. Mrs. Loyd enjoyed crafts, ceramics and sewing and loved tending to the needs of her home and family. Mrs. Loyd was preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. Loyd, Jr., and her son, Charles Traylor Loyd.

Her surviving family members are her son, William (Marcia) Scarborough Loyd from Cornelia, Georgia; her daughter, Elaine (Hu) Loyd Partin from LaGrange, Georgia; and three grandchildren, Greer (Derek) Partin Sorrells, Matthew (Kelsey) Loyd Partin, and Ryan (Jenn) Webb Partin and her four great grandchildren, Brody and Avery Sorrells and Gary and Crew Partin; her sisters, Alice Smith and Betty (Steve) Martin; and her brother, Bill (Karen) Scarborough.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Loyd Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Glass Bridge Road in LaGrange, Georgia with the Rev. Jan Tolbert officiating.

Memorial gifts can be made to the First Presbyterian Church Soup Kitchen or Loyd Presbyterian Church in her memory.
