Troup County swept a double header against Spencer in dominating fashion on Thursday.

The Tigers won the first game by a resounding score of 16-1 in a game that ended in the fourth inning.

The Tigers only accumulated six hits in the game, but were walked seven times and were hit by pitch another six times.

Despite the fact that he did not have a hit Reed Morris had three RBIs in the game. Mason Atkinson added two RBIs in the game as well with five other players getting a single RBI.

Ethan Hunt had the best game from the plate for the Tigers as he went two for three with three runs scored and an RBI.

The Tigers had a scoreless first inning, but scored five runs in the second, three in the third and eight in the fourth to force the run rule and give Troup County an easy win in the first game.

Tripp Cummings put on a clinic from the mound, only allowing 1 hit in four innings and striking out 10 batters.

The second game was even more devastating for Spencer as the game ended in just two and a half innings of play as the Tigers outmuscled them 18-0.

Troup County got the scoring started early with 11 runs in the bottom of the first inning.

There were quality performances from the plate all-around for the Tigers in this game. Brett Haynes went two for three with four RBIs and two runs scored. Devon Murphy went one for one with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Hunt had another good game as he went one for three with two RBIs and two runs scored. Hunt is just a freshman and showed a lot of promise in the two games against Spencer.

Rocky Pemberton got the start on the mound and did not disappoint as he only allowed one hit in his three innings of work. He also struck out eight batters on the evening.

The Tigers move to 9-4 overall and 3-1 in region play. Weather permitting, Troup County’s next game is a double header against Kendrick on Friday.
