The Rev. Michael Emmanuel Stenson passed away Thursday.

He was born Feb. 11, 1953, to the Rev. Marshall and Mrs. Matilda Stenson in Troup County, Georgia; the youngest of 13 children.

He was educated in the Troup County School System and Bryant’s Theological Seminary.

The Rev. Stenson was employed by Wal-Mart Distribution Center until he retired and later decided to work as an attendant for the Troup County Correctional Facility Compactors.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Stenson; daughter, Tiffany Michelle Stenson (Victor Clark), LaGrange, Georgia; son, Brian (Lawanda) Harrilson, Columbus, Georgia; several grandchildren; brother, Howard (Racine) Stenson, Tennessee; sisters:  Ethel Stargill, LaGrange, Georgia; Matilda (John) Rouse, Atlanta, Georgia; Dorothy (Walter) Stephens, Tennessee; sisters-in-law:  Cora Stenson, JoAnn (Ron) Howard, Joyce Jones; brother-in-law, Willie (Annette) Harrilson; and an array of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The Service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

The excellent care of Rev. Stenson is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
