LaGrange Academy, LaGrange, Troup County, and Callaway High Schools participate in LaGrange Toyota Invitational track meet

LaGrange High School hosted the annual LaGrange Toyota Invitational track meet on Thursday with 19 schools from across Georgia and Alabama. LaGrange Academy, LaGrange, Troup County, and Callaway High Schools are all present at the event.

LaGrange

LaGrange took home seven first-place performances and a multitude of top three finishers. Mantavious Martin took home first place in the boys long jump and the triple jump. Christian Ector took home first in the boys discus throw and also earned a third place finish in pole vaulting. Katelyn Moore took home a first-place finish in the girls 200-meter dash and triple jump and finished second in the 100 meter dash and long jump. Ivorie Smith finished first in the 300-meter hurdles, earned a second place finish in the 400 meter dash and finished second in the 800 meter dash. Christy Thomas finished first in the girls discus throw.

Marcus Franklin finished second in the boys 800-meter run. Amos Scott finished second in the boys 200-meter dash. Yashawn Butler earned a third place finish in the 110 boys meter hurdles. Marcus Jones finished third in the boys high jump. Mo Evans earned a second place finish in the triple jump. Alyssa Rhaney finished third in the 400-meter dash and earned a second place finish in the triple jump. Naveah Boddie finished third in girls shot put

LaGrange finished second in the boys 4×100 meter relay, losing by only .06 of a second. LaGrange earned a third-place finish in the boys 4×800 meter relay.

Callaway

The Cavaliers only had two first place finishes with Niakoe Burkes being the star of the show for Callaway.

Burkes finished first place in the 100-meter dash and long jump. Gabby Johnson earned a third place finish in the 3200 meter race. Malaysia Parham finished third in the triple jump. JaVonte’ Parker earned a second-place finish in the boys high jump

Callaway finished third in the girls 4×100 meter relay, 4×400 meter relay, and the 4×800 meter relay. The Cavaliers also finished third in the boys 4×400 meter relay.

Troup

Troup County only had one first place finish as Tay Shells dominated the competition in the boys high jump. Jamiya Reed finished third in the girls high jump. Noah Dixon earned a third place finish in the boys 100-meter dash. Zay Moreland finished third in the boys 200-meter dash.

Troup County also finished third in the boys 4×100 meter relay.

LaGrange Academy

LaGrange Academy did not have any finishes in the top three, but Ellie Grace Eiler has the highest place finish for LaGrange Academy with a seventh-place finish in the girls 3200 meter race.
