Weekend Ticket: Storytime, festivals and more this weekend in Troup County

There are plenty of fun festivities to take part in LaGrange this weekend.

Start off your Saturday morning from 11 to 11:30 a.m, at Pretty Good Books with a special storytime with Columbus State University’s Dr. Jennifer Brown. This pre-K through third grade-targeted event will feature songs, crafts, and of course, great books.

The Hogansville Public Library is partnering with the City of Hogansville and Eco-Action to host an “Earth Day Every Day” Chalk the Town event on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.

Participants are welcome to gather at either Isaiah Lofton Park or the Hogansville Public Library to decorate the sidewalks with Earth Month messages. This is a free program open to all community members. No registration is required.

For those looking for something a bit more fantastical, the Hogansville Public Library is also hosting an in-person Dungeons & Dragons campaign on Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m.

This event is open to middle and high school students. Those wishing to participate must fill out a beginners Dungeons & Dragons packet to register. This can be obtained in person at the Hogansville Library or found on their website. No library card or experience is required.

Wild Leap is hosting their Burger Bash from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday. This event will feature a variety of burgers from food vendors throughout the Southeast, exclusive one-day-only small-batch beers, cocktails and slushies and live music Admission is free and open to people of all ages.

In West Point, Burrow Warehouse will house the annual Merry Market Shopping Spectacular Shopping event on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event will be a shopping hotspot for furniture, paintings, boutique finds, treats, sweets and so much more. Burrow Warehouse is located at 709 4th Ave., West Point.
