1934 – 2022

Mrs. Ernestine Lucas Rice, of LaGrange, passed away on April 7, 2022.

She was born on Oct. 30, 1934, to the late Ernest Lucas and Winnie O’Neal Lucas in Heard County, Georgia.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Rice; sons, Kevin Rice and Patrick Rice; brother, Carey Lucas.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Rhiannon Costley (Matthew) and Jacob Rice (Jenna); great-grandchildren, Chloe Costley, Carter Costley, Skylar Rice and Savannah Rice; sister, Doris McCurry; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Rice; and extended family and friends.

The family will have visitation on Monday, April 11, 2022, at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand from 3-4 p.m.

Funeral services will begin at 4 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. S.T. Janey officiating. Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery.
