Woman arrested after allegedly striking man with car

A woman was arrested Tuesday night after striking a man, the father of her child, with her car during a domestic dispute.

According to a press release, the LaGrange Police Department responded to the area of E. Crovat Street in reference to a person who was hit by a car during an argument. The Criminal Investigations Section was notified and began an investigation. The investigation revealed that the suspect, Shoquavius Colton, drove her 2012 Hyundai Elantra to E. Crovat Street where the victim was standing on the side of the road.

An argument ensued between Colton and the victim, according to the press release. Colton allegedly drove her car toward, the victim with the vehicle. Colton then turned allegedly around and tried to strike the victim again with the vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The victim had a minor injury to his leg. Colton returned to the scene during the investigation and was placed under arrest for aggravated assault FVA.

Colton and the victim have a child together, according to the press release. At the time of the arrest, Colton was not on probation or parole, per the press release.
