The LaGrange boys soccer team pulled out a furious rally to get back in the game, but ultimately fell 3-2 Thursday in the second round of the AAAA playoffs to North Oconee.

The Grangers were in a hole early when the Titans scored just over a minute into the game. They dug the hole even deeper when they went down 2-0 in just the 20th minute of the game.

Jordan Bryant was able to score a goal on a Tripp Hollstrom assist with less than 10 minutes to go in the first half to give the Grangers some momentum heading into the break.

Hollstrom delivered once again when he headed in a goal off a free kick from Miller DeVane less than ten minutes into the second half.

The teams proceeded to exchange quality opportunities over the second half as the game became stretched with both teams pushing for the win. The Titans were able to grab the game winning goal with just over two minutes to play to end the Grangers season and their hopes of capturing a state championship.

It was an electric season for the Grangers, but they will be disappointed with how the season reached its conclusion. LaGrange will look to replace six senior starters next year as they will have to retool the team with some younger players. Fortunately, the team will be returning leading goal scorer and assist man Davis Knight to the fold.

LaGrange ended the season with a record of 13-4-2 and fell in the second round of the playoffs for the fourth season in a row (not including the COVID shortened 2020 season).
