On Friday morning, we were informed about a wreck involving a Troup County School System bus. A short story is in this newspaper, explaining how a car ran into the back of a bus that had 28 students onboard.

This incident is a good reminder of the importance of being aware where our school buses are in the mornings and afternoons. The school year is almost over, but there’s still a month left, and Troup County School buses travel just about every inch of this county to pick up children and drop them off.

We’re thankful no students were injured in the incident and that the bus sustained no damage, per TCSS.

But it’s important to remember to drive a little extra careful when around a school bus, which makes frequent stops.

Also, when a school bus puts out its stop sign, remember that it’s against the law to continue driving.

You never know where a student might run into the road from, so be careful. Imagine if it was your child waiting on the bus. We’re sure you’d want all cars to stop and make sure they got on board safely.
