On Tuesday, May 10, The LaGrange Daily News and LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce will partner for a candidate forum.

The forum will include candidates from all of the contested local races, including commission chairman, Troup County Commissioner District 5, State Senate District 29 and State House of Representatives District 136.

The forums will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Limited seating will be available at the chamber office, located at 111 Bull Street. The LDN will live stream the forum on its Facebook page and the video will remain on the page for anyone who can’t watch it live.

All eight candidates involved in these four elections are expected to participate.

Incumbent Commission Chairman Patrick Crews is being challenged by Phil Nations (both Republicans).

District 5 Commissioner Jimmy McCamey is being challenged by Joe Kirkland (both Democrats).

State Senate District 29 Frederick Manley and Ellen Wright, both Democrats, are battling it out to face incumbent Republican Randy Robertson in November. Robertson is unopposed in the primary. House District 136 candidates David Jenkins is being challenged by Kenneth Murphy (both Republicans).
