Man arrested for strangling girlfriend

A man was arrested Sunday after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in front of two children.

According to a press release, officers with LaGrange Police Department responded to the 500 block of E. Bacon Street in reference to a domestic fight early Sunday morning. Officers spoke with the female victim who said her boyfriend, Myron Jackson, had assaulted her and strangled her. The investigation revealed the victim and Jackson had a domestic dispute. During this argument, Jackson became enraged and began strangling the victim, injuring her. This act of violence was witnessed by two juvenile children, according to the press release. Jackson was arrested on scene and charged with aggravated assault family violence and two counts of cruelty to a child in the third-degree FVA.

At the time of his arrest, Jackson was not on probation or parole.
