Myrtle B. Sollars-Easley, of LaGrange, passed away on May 6, 2022, at the age of 100 at her residence in LaGrange, Georgia.

She was born April 28, 1922 in Crenshaw County, Alabama, to James David and Reidie Pickett Byrd and grew up there.

In 1946, she married the love of her life, Capt. John A. Sollars. In the USAF, they lived many places, including Panama and Japan. Their son, John Jr., was born in 1952 in Arizona.

After her husband’s death, in 1961, she moved back to Montgomery, Alabama, to be near family and friends and raise her son. After her son was grown, she married William A. Easley, Jr. and they enjoyed many years of companionship until his death in 1992.

In 2009, she moved to LaGrange, Georgia to be near her family in her later years. She loved her family, her friends, and her church. She was a member of Morning View Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama, and moved her membership to First Baptist Church LaGrange, Georgia in 2009.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, James A. Byrd, her first husband, Lt. Col. John A. Sollars, Sr., her second husband, William A. Easley, Jr., and her stepson, William A. Easley, III.
