1936 – 2022

Pastor Lucille McCutcheon Thornton passed away Saturday at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.

She was born Nov. 3, 1936, in Troup County, Georgia to Eddie B and Rosa Lee McCutcheon.

At an early age, she united with Louise United Methodist Church, and started her own ministry at Life & Spirit Bible Church.

She was educated in the Troup County School System and graduated from Ethel W. Kight.

Survivors include her husband,  Willie R. Thornton, Mountville, Georgia; children:  Sandra (Ronnie) Hardnett, Mountville, Georgia; Donnie (Wanda) McCurty, LaGrange; Georgia; Willie Cardell Thornton, Hogansville, Georgia; Pamela (David) Daniel, Hogansville; Georgia; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; step-brother, David Rhodes, LaGrange, Georgia her siblings:  Minnie McCutcheon, College Park, Georgia; Daisy (Luther) Beasley, Elaine (Tommy) Stephens, Sylvia (Gary) Smith, all of Mountville, Georgia; Margaret Jennings, LaGrange, Georgia; Robert (Carla) McCutcheon, Gay, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family.

The Service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Total Faith Missionary Church of God, Luthersville, Georgia. The excellent care of Pastor Thornton is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
