Runoff election for Democratic primary set for June 21

There will be a runoff election on June 21, 2022, for several of the races in the Democratic primary. Only Democrat voters who voted in the primary and anyone who did not vote at all may vote in this Election Runoff. Those who voted Republican in the primary you are not eligible to vote in this runoff.

The races that will be on the runoff ballot will include the Democratic candidates for Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Commissioner of Insurance and Commissioner of Labor.  Candidates for each race include:

LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR (D)

  • Charlie Bailey
  • Kwanza Hall

SECRETARY OF STATE (D)

  • Dee Dawkins-Haigler
  • Bee Nguyen

COMMISSIONER OF INSURANCE (D)

  • Raphael Baker
  • Janice Laws Robinson

COMMISSIONER OF LABOR (D)

  • William “Will” Boddie, Jr.
  • Nicole Horn

Early voting begins on June 13 at 8 a.m. and will continue through June 17 at 5 p.m. For those who want to vote via mail, the last day to apply for an absentee ballot is June 10.

Mail-in ballots must be returned to the Troup County Government Center by election day at 7 p.m.
