Carnice “Connie” Parker Olinger, 78, of LaGrange, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 2, 2022.

Connie was born March 4, 1944, in Columbus, Georgia, to the late Willis Henry “W.H.” Parker and Wyolene Greer Parker.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Don Olinger; son, Rusty Olinger; granddaughters, Katherine McCarter Olinger and Mollie Greer Olinger, all of LaGrange, Georgia; cousin Johnny (Brenda) Inman of Peachtree City, Georgia. After relocating to Cedartown, Georgia, at the age of four, where her father opened Economy Auto Store, Connie graduated from Cedartown High School in 1962 where she received the class’s “Most Friendly” superlative award.

She then attended Tift College where she received her B.A. Degree in Elementary Education. She then attended LaGrange College where she received her Masters Degree in Education. She taught for 33 years of which most were here with Troup County Schools where she retired.

Connie was active at First Baptist Church on the Square as a member of the Philathea Sunday School class and Bereavement Committee. She attended Ester’s Bible Study group and was a volunteer CASA worker, as well as a member of the Willowood Garden Club, Tabard Book Club, and past President of Troup County Master Gardeners. She participated in numerous bridge and Mahjongg groups through the years. Remembered as a fun-loving friend to all who knew her, Connie was often referred to as “my sister”. Most of all, she loved her family.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2022, at First Baptist Church on the Square in LaGrange, Georgia. The Gathering of Family and Friends will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to West Georgia Hospice, First Baptist Church on the Square or the charity of your choice.
