Tray Tucker, 57, of Hogansville, passed away Monday, June 6, 2022, at his home.

Mr. Tucker was born April 8, 1965, in LaGrange, and was a lifelong resident of Hogansville. A 1983 graduate of Hogansville High School, he was employed at Hubbard and Spinks Garage for 30 years and served as a bus driver for the Troup County School System for 36 years. He also served as an assistant coach for football, basketball, and track at Hogansville High School and Callaway High School for many years. He was an avid golfer and loved to cut grass and maintain his home.  Through his years of coaching and serving as a bus driver, Tray touched the lives of thousands of area young people and served as a positive influence and as a mentor to many.

Survivors include his mother, Carolyn Watson; father and step-mother, Wayne and Evvy Tucker; brother, Greg Tucker and his wife Cindy Tucker, who served as a devoted and special caregiver to Tray during his illness; nephews, Greg Tucker, Jr. and Jonathan Tucker; nine great-nieces and great-nephews; two great-great-nephews; and his god-son, Demetrius Smith and his wife, Ryann and their sons, Noah and Jaxon. Other survivors include the family of the late Mae Belle Smith Morgan and many friends, including Sammy and Ellen Hubbard, Dwight and Amy Murrell, Kerry and Mark Sinns, and Robin McCann.

A memorial service will be conducted at noon, Saturday, June 11, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with Pastor Brenda Rhodes officiating, assisted by Rev. Gary Smith, Coach Pete Wiggins, Dominique Smedley, and Coach Kareem Douhne. The family will greet friends at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Callaway High School Athletics, 221 Whitfield Rd., Hogansville, Georgia, 30230.
