Grammy-nominated Singer/songwriter Kim Richey will be performing with guitarist Sam Hawksley 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Pure Life Studios.  

Kim Richey came onto the music scene in the 1990s and entered her first recording contract at the age of 37. Kim signed with Mercury Nashville then spent the next few years promoting her albums and touring with the likes of Wynonna Judd.  

Richey’s songs have been recorded by Trisha Yearwood, Radney Foster, and Brooks & Dunn. She has released multiple records and singles, and her many collaborations and vocals for other artists’ records have been with Dixie Chicks, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Jason Isbell, Ryan  Adams, Reba McEntire and the list goes on and on.  

An Ohio native, Richey’s passion for music was sparked early on in her great aunt’s record shop where she’d scour the bins and soak it all in. She took up the guitar in high school and, while studying environmental education and sociology at Western Kentucky University in Bowling  Green, she played in a band with Bill Lloyd. But it didn’t stick… not right away.  

“I met Kim at the Opelika Songwriters FesRval last year. I was about feel over when I heard her vocals then, when I spoke with her I was hooked. She is so entertaining and simply talented.  This is a great show where you get to sit back and just soak it all in,” say’s Maggie McDonald owner/operator of Pure Life Studios.  

The Concert is to be held at Pure Life House of Music, an acoustic listening room, located at 206  Clark St. in the Hillside Community of LaGrange. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and music starts at 7:30 p.m. The concert is $20.00 for advanced tickets and $25.00 cash at the door. Seating is limited and it is highly recommended that you purchase tickets in advance. Once you get to the venue it is cash only and there is no guarantee of a seat without advance Tickets.
