Linda Jo Powell, 80, passed away the morning of June 8, 2022, surrounded by her family in Columbus, Georgia.

Linda was born July 14, 1941, in Washington, D.C. to Maynard and Juanita Hamma. Through high school and college she worked for the Pentagon and a private legal firm prior to her lifelong work in ministry.

After college at George Washington University she met her husband Gene. They were married in July of 1964. They served together with The Navigators for almost 60 years. She and Gene worked in the Church Discipleship Ministry dedicated to the mission found in Colossians 2:7. Linda Jo devoted her life to discipleship and sharing the gospel with everyone she encountered. She was a faithful prayer warrior who left an eternal footprint globally.

In retirement, she spent her time continuing to minister to everyone around her, whether that was family or lifelong friendships. Linda Jo was a dedicated servant and caregiver to her husband of 58 years.

She enjoyed welcoming her first two great-grandchildren.

Linda Jo is survived by her husband Gene, her brother Earl Dennis Hamma (Marilyn), her children: Shelley Powell Patterson (Ben), Shannon Powell (April), and Steven Powell (Emilee).
