1941 – 2022

Mr. James Levon Pruitt, 81, of Hogansville, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Pruitt was born Jan. 24, 1941, in LaGrange, son of the late the Rev. Paul E. Pruitt and Lorena Hendrix Pruitt.

A lifelong resident of Troup County, he was Apostolic by faith and was employed as a cabinet builder prior to his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking and watching football.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Pruitt; his mother in-law, Adelle Hanners; sisters in-law, Gayle and Robert Hendrix, June and L.T. Hogan, all of Hogansville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Audrey Pruitt Reese; brothers, Paul Pruitt and Robert Pruitt; and father in-law, Jessie O. Hanners.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, June 17, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. 

The Rev. David Simmons will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until 2 p.m., Friday. It is the request of the family that those attending please wear a face-mask at the visitation and service.
