1947 – 2022

The Rev. Willie Joe Cameron passed away Wednesday morning.

He was born March 18, 2022, son of the late Sam Anthony and Fannie Bell Hill Cameron.

He graduated from Ethel W. Kight High School, Class of 1966.

The Rev. Cameron served as the Pastor at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Hogansville and was previously employed by  Georgia Pacific, Milliken & Company’s Hillside Plant, Troup County School System and A Courtesy Limousine Service.

Survivors include his wife, Lavinia; four children:  Curtis Cameron, Willie Joe Cameron, Jr. (Mauna), Theresa Smith (Mark Thompson) and Michael Cameron; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six siblings, Lillie Smith, Lillian (Willie) Robinson, James (Mary) Cameron, Mattie Bankston, Rev. Melvin Cameron and Sammy K. Cameron (Lisa Harris); brother-in-law, Cecil (Margaret) Gilbert; several nephews, nieces and many, many other close relatives and friends.

The Service will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

The excellent care of Rev. Cameron is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
