Man wanted after assaulting, robbing woman in her car

The LaGrange Police Department is searching for a suspect in a sudden-snatch-turned robbery incident that occurred Sunday night.

Officers responded to Butler Street at approximately 6:30 p.m. where a female victim reported being physically assaulted by a known suspect, Justin Willis.

According to a press release, Willis allegedly assaulted the victim while she sat in her vehicle.

Willis allegedly attempted to grab the victim’s purse and knocked over the victim’s child’s car seat. The action cause the victim’s four-month-old child, who was in the seat, minor pain, according to the press release. 

Prior to exiting the vehicle, Willis grabbed the victim’s purse from inside the vehicle and ran off.

The purse was located on Butler Street and was missing $46 cash, house keys, and identification documents all belonging to the victim.

Willis was not on active probation or parole at the time of this incident, according to the press release.

Arrest warrants for Willis have been issued at this time.
