Anthony M. Wheat, 38, of Augusta, Georgia, departed on Thurs. at his parent’s home in LaGrange.

Anthony Marzell Wheat the son of Edward Sr. and Barbara Wheat was born in Lagrange.

He was a faithful servant of the Jesus Christ Christian Worship Center and served as a member of the board.

During his educational informative years, he was the first Afro-American in the Gifted Child Program of Troup County.

Anthony was a graduate, Student of the Year and member of the Georgia State Champion Football team of the Lagrange High School class of 2002.

He leaves to cherish his memory; loving wife Tara Wheat of Augusta, Georgia, devoted parents Edward Sr. and Barbara Wheat of Lagrange, two brothers; Christopher Wheat of

Lagrange and Edward Wheat, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia, one sister Andreana Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia, mother-in-law Della Morine of Augusta, Georgia, sister-n-laws, brother-in-law, a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and special friends.

Funeral service will be held on Wed. at 1 P.M. at The First Pentecostal Church with Minister Christopher Wheat officiating and Rev. Edward Wheat, Sr. eulogist.

Chapel viewing will be held on Tues.  from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M at the funeral home.
