Mr. Sherman Garon “Red” Knopp, age 75, of LaGrange, passed away on Aug. 7, 2022. Mr. Knopp was born on Feb. 24, 1947, in LaGrange to the late Wyvis Knopp and Virginia Chappell Knopp Bryant. He was the District Manager for Mutual Savings Insurance Company and a faithful member of Baptist Tabernacle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Zachry Mattox.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Diane Lancaster Knopp; sons, Matthew Knopp, Gregory Hewitt, Sr. (Angie) and Toby Hewitt; sisters, Billie Smallwood (David), Deeon Mattox and Lynn Moncus (Ricky); grandchildren, Shandi Duffey (Randall), Gregory Hewett and Chase Hewett; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family; canine babies, Sugar and Scooter.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand with the Rev. Jimmy McMillian officiating. Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery.

Family will receive friends on Thursday beginning at noon at the funeral home.
